All scripture is quoted from the King James Version unless otherwise stated:
Lucifer who became Satan began to indulge in the desire for self exaltation. The scripture says in Ezekiel 28:17 that "his
heart was lifted up because of his beauty and that he corrupted his wisdom by reason of his brightness........."
In the book of Isaiah chapter 14: verses 13 and 14 it states that he said in his heart" he would ascend into heaven
that he would exalt his throne above the stars of God and that he would sit also upon the mount of the congregation.........." Since then he has set out to and been successful at deceiving a portion of the angels in heaven , the serpent, Adam and Eve, the churches, mothers, fathers, grandparents, children, grandchildren, political figures, the nations!
2nd Corinthians 11:13-15 talks about........" false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ". " And no marvel for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light, therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness............"
Matthew 7:16 says "ye shall know them by their fruit.........". Satan has used many to work the fruit of deceit down through the years and today some are still teaching falsehoods and lies confusing the people about everything from such important topics as the state of the dead, immortality of the soul, what day is the true Sabbath day, to celebrating festivals.
You name it Satan has fabricated it. His whole purpose is to be like God and to be worshiped.
Remember these bible verses as you take bible studies with any one, any where, anytime. Continue to follow God and His Word the bible , God's interpretation not man's or your own just the straight truth don't add don't take away. God's method will keep you on the road to truth. Some word's in the bible have been italicized to indicate the word is not in the original manuscript but the smaller words such as conjunctions are to help complete the obvious meaning. Words added to change the context or exact meaning are unacceptable. We don't need to change the meaning of God' s word to fit our purpose. Please keep this in mind as you study with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Please remember the word deceive means to mislead, misrepresent, to trick. Satan has always mixed TRUTH with error. He started off telling Eve (as she contemplated disobeying God who loved her and created her) that she would not surely die. God told Eve she could eat of all the trees but the tree of the knowledge of good and (evil) she should not eat of it for in the day she ate of it she would surely die. This is found in the King James Version of the bible in Gen.2:17. Satan has been a master at lying down through the centuries that is why there is so much confusion in the world today about God's word. Remember this as you study the word of God the truth will set you free. Stay prayerful, watchful and keep praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God. The Lord is on His way back and we have got to be ready.
May your journey thru this website be informative and liberating and may God continue to richly bless you!
Genesis 3:4- Satan lied to Eve by telling her that she shall not surely die
Genesis 40:8- Interpretations belong to God, (not to man)
Amos 3:7- God only reveals His secrets to His servants the (true) prophets
Daniel 2:16-19 Daniel prayed for the interpretation of the secret (which was in the form of a dream) and God revealed it to him
Deuteronomy 13:1-4- Do not follow after so-called "prophets" or" dreamer of dreams" who give you a sign or a wonder and it comes true and they encourage you to follow after other gods......"Ye shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him and keep His commandments ..........."
Isaiah 8:19 & 20 -" And when they say unto you seek unto them that have familiar spirits........." ," To the Law and to the Testimony if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them."
1st John 4:1-3-" Believe not every spirit , but try the spirits whether they are of God..................."
Matthew 7:15 & 16-" Remember beware of false prophets.............Ye shall know them by their fruits.............."
And last but not least 2nd Peter 1:20 says " Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation". 2nd Peter 2:1 says " But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you.........".
Men will have to stop making it up as they go along, or stop leaning to their own understanding, their own schools of thought. God knows how to interpret his own word, the bible says so. God is not the author of confusion.
You have heard the saying" too many cooks spoil the broth" well in this sense too many people are trying to change the interpretation of God's word to make it fit their beliefs. This has done nothing but cause division, misunderstanding and confusion, which has been Satan's accomplished plan. God knows how to interpret His own word the bible says so in Genesis chapter 40: verse 8.
Be careful to remember that some modern day translations tend to lean toward specific doctrines and or traditions and also interject comments or commentary based on the same principles or ideas of others.
In the book of John chapter 7:14-17 it speaks of this same type of thing happening when Jesus went into the temple to speak on the knowledge of the law and the prophecies. The teachers who were there and who were taught in the rabbinical schools were astonished and asked" How knoweth this Man letters having never learned? The Rabbi had their own interpretation of the law. They were more concerned about the letter of the law without the Spirit of the law. Jesus with love in mind for the Father and for us kept to the letter of His own law and yet He was accused of not keeping the law.
Jesus went to the cross and died for us. Why? because of the sin of mankind. What is the biblical definition for sin? 1st John chapter 3 verse 4 says"whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Although Jesus committed no sin and broke no law He made a way of escape for us by taking our place. Romans chapter 6 verse 23 says" the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". So we keep God's law not because we are forced to, but because He loved us first and knows what is best for us.
The law is just and good it's an expression of God's character and points us in the right direction to help us know and remember the difference between right and wrong. So do we do away with the law of God or create our own interpretation of it to meet our own needs?
Matthew 5:17-19 says "Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets, I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Jesus through His death came to fulfill or establish the law by satisfying the requirements of the law by His death( though He knew or committed no sin). Remember that Romans chapter 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is (death), but (the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"). Jesus satisfied the request of the law (death) and at the same time gave us the (gift) of eternal life through Himself. In John chapter 14:15 Jesus says "If ye love me, keep commandments". So we should respect God's law because He established it via His death and will use it to judge by.
James chapter 2:10-12 says" For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For He that said do not commit adultery , said also, do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou are become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty". The death of our Savior did not come cheap! The law is good and just but because of the grace of God we are saved by faith through belief and acceptance of our Teacher, Master, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and not by the Law.
As long as we don't break the law we are not under the law. Romans chapter 6:12-15 says"Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you for ye are not under the law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Romans chapter 3:31 says"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid, yea we establish the law.
The rabbinical teachers kept to the teachings that were inspired by God but they also added their own teachings based on their own human understanding and as a result they seemed unable to recognize the Savior, Jesus Christ through the prophecies inspired by God and handed down through the prophets. They did not seem to recognize him when He came to earth. Instead of listening to the Holy Spirit of God about the Word of God that foretold the coming of Messiah Jesus Christ Himself, the Word, they, those who hated Jesus listened to the spirit of Satan, leaned to their own understanding, their own purposes and of course it was Satan's plan that the Lord God and the prophecies be misunderstood. While they were so busy "keeping the law" they were also rejecting the Love letter of the Word, from the one who was and is the Word and the Savior, the one who came to save them from their sins. Without Jesus there is no law or grace. Jesus says in John chapter 15:5.........for without me ye can do nothing. In 1st John chapter 1:9 we read "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Thank God for Jesus and the Plan of Salvation!
Let's not continue to kill the Word of God with the interpretations and traditions of men. Let's continue to"study to show ourselves approved........" 2nd Timothy 2:15. We have to be careful to accept what is written in the scriptures and not add to or take away from the holy writ. We must be careful not to interject the ideas and traditions of others. We must not interject our own way of interpretation with God's interpretation for this brings about confusion, and death which has been Satan's accomplished plan.
Let's remove the dark curtain of Satan's deceit and let the light of God's living Word in.
